Upbit Boosts This Altcoin with a New Listing Announcement!

upbit

One of South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Upbit, has officially launched trading for the KERNEL/KRW pair today. Following the listing announcement, KERNEL’s price surged over 18% in a short time, drawing significant attention from investors.

KERNEL/KRW Trading Officially Begins

Upbit announced today that it has listed the KERNEL token for trading against the Korean won (KRW). Trading began at 10:30 a.m. local time (Turkey time).

This development enables Kernel DAO’s multichain restaking protocol to expand more widely into the Asian market. As a governance and utility token, KERNEL stands out with a Total Value Locked (TVL) exceeding $1.67 billion on the BNB Chain.

Listing Impact on KERNEL Price: 18% Surge

Following the listing announcement, KERNEL’s price rose sharply. Before the listing, the token was trading around $0.1686, but it quickly climbed over 18% to reach approximately $0.22. The 24-hour trading volume also increased significantly, jumping from $19.47 million to over $25 million.

Analysts note that listings on high-liquidity Asian exchanges like Upbit often lead to short-term price spikes, largely driven by strong interest from Korean investors in newly listed tokens.

Kernel DAO: Strengthening Its Position in the Restaking Ecosystem

Kernel DAO has rapidly emerged as one of the leading projects in the restaking space, expanding its influence within the DeFi sector. Through its products Kelp and Gain, the project enables the restaking of assets such as ETH, BTC, and BNB, enhancing network security while offering users additional yield opportunities.

With the addition of the KRW trading pair, Korean investors can now trade KERNEL directly using their national currency. This move is expected to boost regional liquidity and accelerate DeFi adoption across Asian markets.

Investor Warning: Volatility May Increase

Upbit’s announcement included a caution regarding potential price volatility and liquidity fluctuations. While short-term price surges are common following new listings, corrections often occur shortly after.

Experts note that KERNEL’s current rally is largely driven by the “listing effect”, but emphasize that sustainable growth will depend on continued ecosystem expansion and increases in Total Value Locked (TVL) over the long term.
