Roam is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) project leveraging blockchain technology to provide global, seamless, and secure Wi-Fi access. It offers a decentralized implementation of the OpenRoaming standard.
$ROAM is the native multi-purpose utility token of the Roam network. It provides economic incentives within the network, encourages community participation, and serves several critical functions. $ROAM does not grant any equity, revenue rights, or investment returns. Its design is strictly for on-network usage and incentive mechanisms.
$ROAM tokens are distributed in proportion to actual network usage and participation. Passive holders cannot earn rewards simply by holding.
Token issuance is determined via a mathematical model based on network difficulty adjustments. Roam Point holders, $ROAM holders, and NFT owners can mint $ROAM in different staking pools.

Team and Founders
The core team includes experts in telecommunications, Web3, and marketing:
-
Jeffrey Manner: Co-Founder
-
YZ: Co-Founder
-
Rohan JT: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Investors and Strategic Partners
- Key Investors: Comma3 Ventures, Samsung Next, ECMC Group, ANAGRAM, Future3 Campus
- Technology Partners: The Linux Foundation, IoTeX, Harmony
- Web3 Integration Partners: Huma, Hooked, Acurast, MeshSmart, JDI, JSending.Network
- This combination provides Roam with a solid financial and technological foundation for global adoption.

How It Works
-
Identity: Users and devices use on-chain identities (NFTs or private wallets) on EVM-compatible blockchains to authenticate devices for network participation.
-
Automatic Authentication: Devices automatically authenticate when approaching a Roam network Wi-Fi hotspot using their Roam Identity (via the OpenRoaming protocol).
-
Service Delivery & Rewards: Hotspot Providers earn $ROAM for successfully authenticating users and delivering data services.
-
Network Usage: Users pay for seamless global Wi-Fi services with $ROAM tokens or via subscription models.
Key Features
-
Decentralized Identity Management: Roam Identities allow secure authentication without relying on mobile operators or centralized intermediaries.
-
Global Roaming (OpenRoaming Compatible): Roam ensures compatibility with thousands of existing OpenRoaming access points.
-
Incentivized Network Growth: Hotspot Providers are rewarded in $ROAM, enabling organic network expansion.
-
Privacy and Security: All data and authentication are secured with advanced encryption and enterprise-level OpenRoaming standards (WPA3, 802.1X).
Roadmap Highlights
-
Q1: Launch of Roam Loan and Roam Discovery; Proof of Presence Protocol activation; global eSIM cellular network expansion.
-
Q2: Launch of Roam Growth Program; introduction of next-gen wireless miners.
-
Q3: Roam App 2.0 release; Roam OS updates; Community DAO governance setup.
-
Q4: Roam Innovator Hub launch; fully integrated Wi-Fi and cellular network deployment.

Governance
Roam aims to transition into a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO):
-
$ROAM Token: Token holders will vote on protocol upgrades, pricing mechanisms, and ecosystem fund allocations.
-
Early Stage Governance: Initially, the core team and strategic partners will manage key decisions for stable protocol growth.
Token Information
-
Total Supply: 995.76M
-
Max Supply: 1B
-
Circulating Supply: 327.54M
Roam Token Distribution
-
400M minted at TGE (280M for sales, 120M for the team)
-
600M generated over time via mining and staking
-
Distribution managed through community-governed vesting programs
Token Use Cases
-
Network Incentives (Proof of Service): Hotspot Providers earn $ROAM for Wi-Fi service provision.
-
Payments: Users pay for global Wi-Fi access using $ROAM.
-
Staking: Stake $ROAM to secure the network and earn rewards; Hotspot Providers stake for service quality.
-
Governance: Token holders vote on protocol parameters and fund allocations.
-
Identity Fees: Roam Identity creation or renewal fees can be paid with $ROAM.
Roam Ecosystem
The ecosystem goes beyond global Wi-Fi access, fostering growth, discovery, and community engagement:
-
Roam Explorer: Interface to discover global Wi-Fi coverage and participation.
-
Global eSIM Service: Single eSIM for 180+ countries ensures seamless connectivity.
-
Discovery Ecosystem: Web3 partner exploration platform.
-
Ambassador Program: Community-driven promotion and adoption program.
-
Growth Program: Encourages devices to join as Hotspot Providers.
-
Communities: Social channels for feedback and decentralized governance participation.
