PlaysOut: The Steam of Mini-Games Bridging Web2 and Web3

PlaysOut is a global infrastructure and publishing platform redefining the mini-game concept. The system operates fully compatible with the WeChat ecosystem, combining an independent portal and developer-friendly SDK under one roof. Thanks to this setup, developers can access both WeChat and TikTok mini-game frameworks simultaneously without altering their code. Users enjoy a high-quality gaming experience without leaving their social networks. PlaysOut’s Web2-Web3 bridge expands the mini-game market with blockchain-based asset models and opens new revenue streams.

Main Objective

PlaysOut is an open platform aiming to become the “Steam of mini-games.” It hosts games on its own servers and delivers them to users via a WebSocket-based mini-program infrastructure. This allows games to launch quickly on mobile devices without going to an app store. Since only necessary data packets are downloaded, loading times are reduced. For developers, the PlaysOut SDK automates tasks such as resource management, asset packaging, and session tracking. It enables the production of Android, iOS, and HTML5 versions from a single codebase, offering near-native app performance and fluidity.

PlaysOut Ecosystem Size and Investor Confidence

As of July 2025, PlaysOut has collaborated with over 200 game developers to build a content library hosting more than 1,000 high-quality mini-games. The platform, accessed via partner super apps, has reached 500,000 daily active users (DAU), achieving a 35% monthly growth rate since early 2025.

This rapid growth attracted major investors. Backed by prominent funds such as OKX Ventures, KBW Ventures, and Kenetic Capital, PlaysOut raised $7 million in a seed round in March 2025, bringing its valuation to $70 million.

WeChat Integration

With 1.3 billion monthly active users, WeChat is PlaysOut’s primary target market. The platform distributes mini-program games via chat windows, Moments feed, and QR codes. This boosts organic discoverability and reduces user acquisition costs.

WeChat integration allows users to play without logging in or connecting a wallet thanks to its lightweight client structure. Its built-in profile, friend list, and payment infrastructure increase in-game purchase rates and developer revenue.

Bridge Between Web2 and Web3

PlaysOut uses blockchain asset models in the background. In-game items are converted into ERC-721 and ERC-1155 compatible NFTs, enabling true ownership transfer between players. Users remain on Web2 interfaces like WeChat while their assets are recorded and verified on the blockchain.

This structure enables PLAY token-based incentives. Players earn PLAY tokens by completing quests or winning tournaments; these tokens can be spent on the platform or traded on exchanges. This boosts user retention and provides developers with sustainable income beyond advertising.

Developer Monetization and SDK Feature

PlaysOut offers a simple revenue-sharing model. Micro-payments, NFT sales, and ad revenues are managed from a single panel. Smart contracts automatically distribute royalty payments to developers after each transaction, ensuring transparency and fairness.

The SDK includes a ready-made in-game marketplace component. Developers only need to define asset metadata—pricing, inventory, and royalties are handled by the engine. This allows teams to focus on content rather than infrastructure.

Strategic Advantages of the PlaysOut Super App

The PlaysOut Super App aims to increase user time on the platform. Modular game systems are integrated into messaging, payment, or delivery apps via a simple API. The user experience remains seamless, enhancing the value of the main service.

For example, if an e-wallet processes in-game purchases through its payment gateway, it earns commission per transaction. User engagement and retention also rise, growing the ecosystem’s network effect.

PlaysOut’s Vision and Global Expansion Strategy

Aiming to become a global leader in the mini-game sector, PlaysOut is launching integrations with Western super apps like Telegram and Discord in Q3. The platform is also kicking off community programs and competitions backed by a $1 million prize pool to support its growing developer base.

According to Newzoo, the global mobile game market has reached $188.9 billion. PlaysOut aims to capture 5% of the mini-game segment (~$5 billion) within the next three years.

The platform’s tech is backed by an experienced team led by a former Tencent CTO with over 20 years of experience in the WeChat mini-game ecosystem and game development.

Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Jassem Osseiran has over a decade of experience in tech investments and led IPOs on the London Stock Exchange. Fellow Co-Founder Jimmie Jeremejev has worked in DeFi and NFT projects since 2014, bringing deep blockchain expertise.

PlaysOut’s long-term vision is to become the “Steam of mini-games,” seamlessly connecting developers, players, and super apps across Web2 and Web3.

What is the PLAY Token?

PLAY is the core token of PlaysOut’s economy. Developers stake PLAY instead of paying publishing fees to gain visibility. Players stake PLAY into tournament pools to increase rewards.

This dual-sided economic model helps form a self-sustaining ecosystem.
