Satoshi Statue in Lugano Stolen! 0.1 BTC will be given to the one who brings it back

The statue honouring Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, was stolen from Parco Ciani in Lugano, Switzerland. The Satoshigallery team then offered a 0.1 BTC (approximately $11,000) reward for finding and returning the statue.

The theft of Satoshi Nakamoto’s statue in Parco Ciani was confirmed by Satoshigallery with a statement on X. ” In the statement titled ‘Where is Satoshi?’, the expression ‘You can steal our symbol, but you can never steal our soul’ was used. After this theft incident, the Satoshigallery team announced that they plan to erect Satoshi statues in 21 more cities around the world.

  • Designed with a faceless figure. It symbolises the anonymous spirit of Bitcoin and the ‘We are all Satoshi’ philosophy.
  • It took 18 months to design and was built in about 3 months. It was opened in October 2023.

Lugano Municipality Continues to Support Crypto!

The Municipality of Lugano, where Satoshi Nakamoto was erected, is known to have previously done supportive work related to cryptocurrencies. The statue was placed in front of Villa Ciani during the Plan B Forum, supported by the Municipality of Lugano and Tether. Lugano Mayor Michelle Foletti said the statue expresses the city’s commitment to blockchain and digital innovation. The city of Lugano is known for making such blockchain-supporting studies and statements.

Satoshi Nakamoto Statues are Increasingly Widespread in the World
