PRIZM, developed in 2017, is a cryptocurrency that operates on its unique Paramining consensus model. The project aims to create a fast, independent, energy-efficient, and community-driven financial network. Its main proposition is that users can generate new coins simply by holding PZM in their wallets, without requiring additional hardware. Decentralization, peer-to-peer transfer speed, and low transaction fees are central to PRIZM’s vision.

Project Concept

The idea behind PRIZM was to democratize crypto mining and offer an alternative to energy-intensive Proof of Work (PoW) systems. Instead of traditional mining, PRIZM introduced Paramining, a system where users earn rewards based on wallet balance and community size. This allows anyone to generate income from the network without technical knowledge, expensive equipment, or high costs.

How PRIZM Works (Paramining and Forging)

PRIZM’s operation relies on two main mechanisms:

Paramining
Paramining is the coin generation mechanism of PZM. It starts as soon as a wallet contains at least one PZM. The amount of new coins produced dynamically depends on:

Wallet Balance: The number of PZM coins held.

Total Network Volume: The total PZM holdings of connected users.

Emission Coefficient: A dynamic factor based on total PZM emission.

This structure encourages both individual participation and network expansion. Newly generated coins are distributed to participants immediately when transactions occur. Coins are drawn from the Genesis wallet, aiming for a maximum supply of 6 billion PZM.

Forging
Forging is the process of validating blockchain transactions and creating new blocks. Users running PRIZM CORE software with sufficient balance participate. Forgers are rewarded with a share of transaction fees when they add new blocks.

Key Features

Speed: Blocks are generated on average every 59 seconds.

Paramining: Increases wallet coin balance over time.

Open Source: Code is publicly available and supports integration.

Team and Founders

PRIZM originated from the international social movement “Change the World Together,” founded in 2011. Alexey Muratov is the founder and main ideologist, previously known for his role in the controversial MMM-2011 scheme. Technical lead Yuri Mayorov heads the small, community-driven core development team.

Investors and Partnerships

Public information about financial investors is not available. However, PRIZM has partnered with technical and security organizations for code auditing: RTM TECHNOLOGIES, CodeCondo, and BITCOINSBRAIN.

Governance

PRIZM defines itself as a fully decentralized, self-regulating network. While formal governance and voting structures are not publicly detailed, the 100% PoS and Forging system indicates that major network decisions are driven by Forger operators and community consensus.

PZM Token Details

Babylon is a pioneering blockchain infrastructure protocol that enables Bitcoin holders to securely stake their assets in a non-custodial way to secure Proof-of-Stake (PoS) networks. It fundamentally strengthens PoS protocols against vulnerabilities such as forking and long-range attacks by utilizing the Bitcoin timestamping mechanism.

Babylon’s Core Approach

Babylon operates using a “shared security” model, allowing different PoS networks to benefit from the security provided by Bitcoin. Bitcoin investors can stake their BTC without wrapping or bridging it to another network, in return for alternative coin rewards from PoS networks.

The protocol is built on the Cosmos SDK. This infrastructure allows the node structure to be segmented into different blocks, lowering checkpoint costs. Additionally, it consists of multiple modules, each serving the security of PoS networks.

The Future of Babylon and Token Status

Currently, Babylon does not have an official token, but it is expected that a potential BABY token will support the governance layer, based on industry parallels (e.g., EigenLayer). As the project is preparing for its mainnet launch, it has completed its testnet phase, and users are expected to be rewarded through a points system while providing liquidity.

Babylon Network Strategic Phases

Babylon Network is being rolled out in three phases, each unlocking the full potential of the protocol. The first phase begins with Bitcoin staking, aiming to create a solid and interoperable security layer for PoS blockchains, all while maintaining the self-custodial nature of Bitcoin.

Phase 1: Bitcoin Locking

The first phase lays the foundation by allowing Bitcoin holders to securely lock their BTC without losing ownership or control.

BTC can be locked in users’ wallets without wrapping or bridging.

Security audits were carried out to ensure the process’s robustness.

A covenant committee was formed to oversee protocol safety and implementation.

This phase focused on creating a secure environment for BTC to participate in staking activities.

Phase 2: Babylon Genesis Launch

The second phase marks the birth of Babylon Genesis, the first operational chain in the Babylon ecosystem. It introduced several essential components:

A stable testnet (bbn-test-5) launched on January 8, 2025, for thorough testing.

Mainnet went live, establishing Babylon Genesis as the foundation for the network.

Finality Providers were activated to validate blocks and strengthen consensus.

BTC holders from Phase 1 began staking their BTC on the Genesis chain.

A Token Generation Event (TGE) took place, and the BABY token was officially distributed.

An airdrop distributed BABY tokens to early users, contributors, and BTC stakers as a reward.

Phase 3: Bitcoin Multi-Staking

The final phase aims to scale Babylon by allowing Bitcoin to secure multiple PoS chains simultaneously, creating Bitcoin Secured Networks (BSNs).

Babylon will integrate with more blockchains, allowing Bitcoin to secure diverse PoS ecosystems.

Trust-minimized bridges for Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) will be created to enhance interoperability and liquidity.

The Finality Provider network will be decentralized by bringing in more independent providers to improve trust and resilience.

This phase will mark Babylon‘s full vision, transforming Bitcoin from a passive asset to a powerful force for cross-chain security.

In recent developments, Phantom Wallet, the leading Web3 wallet within the Solana ecosystem, has encountered downtime, causing frustrations among users. Reports indicate unsuccessful transaction submissions, adding to the string of outages affecting the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) layer-1 blockchain network.

Phantom Wallet Outage

Numerous members of the Solana and Phantom Wallet communities have reported issues with the browser version of the wallet. Users have found that submitted transactions cannot be viewed, and attempts to initiate transactions have failed without clear error messages.

While some users have confirmed the outage, it appears that not all users are affected equally. Some have been able to access their accounts and complete transactions successfully, suggesting that the problem is not widespread.

Independent Crypto Journalist Colin Wu shared a screenshot displaying a “no data” prompt on the browser wallet’s overview page, indicating potential issues with transaction visibility. However, Phantom Wallet has not officially acknowledged these reports, suggesting that the downtime may not be affecting all users.

Phantom Wallet has experienced downtime before, notably facing a DDoS attack in February. Such incidents are not uncommon for a Solana-based wallet, given the network’s growing popularity and the associated increase in transaction volume.

Finding a Permanent Solution to Solana Outages

As Solana continues to grow, with SOL gaining prominence as a digital currency, the Solana Foundation is actively seeking solutions to address these recurring outages. Priority fee payments may become standard for applications on the network, aimed at improving transaction processing efficiency.

Moreover, efforts are underway to optimize total compute unit (CU) usage, enhancing the network’s throughput and scalability. Despite Solana’s technological advancements, experts warn that ongoing outages could hinder its ability to surpass Ethereum in the long run.

Zetachain is a foundational, public blockchain that provides smart contract and data transfer between blockchains. Aiming to solve cross-chain and multi-chain problems, Zetachain aims to open the crypto and financial ecosystem to everyone. It is a Layer 1 blockchain platform built on Cosmos SDK and Tendermint Consensus, through which users and developers can easily switch between chains thanks to Proof of Stake (PoS) technology.

ZETA is the native token of the ecosystem, used to pay transaction fees for Zetachain smart contracts and also used to secure the PoS blockchain through the binding/staking/slashing method. ZETA is at the heart of Zetachain’s cross-chain transfers, security, data transfer, and transactions.

Solana searches on Google surpassed Ethereum searches for the first time in 2023, as investors conducted research on the cryptocurrency amid growing interest in the crypto ecosystem.

Solana had a significant lead in searches throughout the year, with a score of 37 points to Ethereum’s 50-point band. However, the data shifted from December 17 to December 23. Solana’s search interest score rose to 56, while Ethereum’s fell to 50.

Terms that receive a 100 score from Google are considered to have “highest popularity.” According to the data, Solana (SOL) search terms are expected to receive a 100-point search interest score between December 24 and December 30.

You can see Google Trends Datas by clicking here.

In addition, the data showed that Solana has received more search interest than Ethereum in countries such as Spain and the Philippines.

It is worth noting that investors who search for Solana also search for BONK and TENSOR.

Interest in proof-of-stake (POS) products has increased significantly in recent months. This could be due to the recent increase in Solana (SOL) ‘s price.

JP Morgan: Ethereum Did Not Deliver the Expected Result! The latest report by JPMorgan claims that Ethereum’s Shanghai upgrade, implemented in April, did not trigger the expected increase in activity. JPMorgan’s analysts note that Ethereum significantly reduced its energy consumption following the Merge upgrade, transitioning from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS). This can certainly be considered a positive development.

However, a team of JPMorgan analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou saw a disappointing trend in the measurements of the Ethereum network after the Shanghai upgrade. According to the report, Ethereum’s daily transaction count decreased by 12%, and daily active addresses declined by nearly 20%.

Additionally, the total value locked (TVL) in decentralized finance (DeFi) on the blockchain decreased by almost 8%. According to JPMorgan, last year’s downturn factors, such as the crashes of platforms like Terra and FTX, U.S. regulatory pressure, and a narrowing stablecoin ecosystem, could outweigh the positive impacts of the Shanghai upgrade. In conclusion, JP Morgan stated, “Ethereum Did Not Deliver the Expected Result!”

You might like: Coinbase Considering Purchasing FTX Europe!

The upgrade aimed at enhancing network security led to a 50% increase in staking rates. However, the presence of major players such as liquid staking protocols raised concerns about centralization. It’s safe to say Ethereum still has some challenges ahead.

The irregular transactions, initially brought to light by the Web3 security firm Cyvers, involve conversions from USDT to ETH as part of suspicious crypto outflows from Stake. These transactions, as per Etherscan data, occurred between 8:52 a.m. ET and 10:05 a.m. ET. At 10:08 am ET, Stake’s official Telegram channel announced temporary maintenance for Ethereum and BSC/ERC20 networks. Attempts to reach Stake via their official press email resulted in undeliverable messages, and a spokesperson did not respond to inquiries from Blockworks. The suspicious nature of these transfers primarily arises from the conversion of USDT to ETH, as Ethereum cannot freeze ETH holdings, a capability that Tether possesses.
