Trump Administration Partners with OpenAI
According to a statement from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise is now being integrated into the workflow of federal agencies. This initiative is part of the Trump administration’s “OneGov Strategy,” which aims to modernize how the government acquires goods and services.
Josh Gruenbaum, Commissioner of Federal Acquisition Services at GSA, told Fox News that the implementation of AI is not just about automation. “It’s also about streamlining processes and reducing waste, fraud, and abuse,” he emphasized.
Harnessing the Power of ChatGPT in Government
ChatGPT isn’t just a conversational tool — it can conduct research, summarize long texts, automate routine tasks, and assist in developing project ideas or creative solutions. Its capabilities extend far beyond chat, making it a valuable asset for public service.
Joseph Larson, an executive at OpenAI, highlighted that ChatGPT currently serves over 700 million weekly users, arguing that such widely adopted technology should not be withheld from government employees. This collaboration aims to bridge the potential gap in tech accessibility between the private and public sectors.
A $1 Investment with Massive Potential
Under the new agreement, each federal agency will gain access to ChatGPT Enterprise for just $1. Along with access, federal employees will benefit from a dedicated user community, onboarding sessions, and exclusive learning platforms.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman emphasized the significance of the deal by stating, “One of the best ways to ensure AI works for everyone is to put it in the hands of the people who serve our country.”
