U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the highest level of security measures in Washington DC. The president ordered the deployment of the National Guard to the capital and declared an emergency curfew across all neighborhoods.
A Historic Move in DC
Speaking at the White House, Trump stated that Washington has been placed under direct federal control and that Section 740 of the Domestic Governance Act has been activated. This decision was made under the president’s direct authority, as the city does not have control over its own National Guard unit.
Trump Deploys National Guard!
“We are taking a historic step in Washington,” Trump said, announcing that the National Guard would be deployed immediately. According to Defense Department officials, hundreds of guard personnel will be stationed in the city to support local law enforcement.
Warning to Other Cities
Trump also noted that conditions in other cities are deteriorating, adding, “We’re starting with Washington.” He further warned, “If necessary, we will deploy the military.”
With this move, Washington DC is now facing one of the strictest security measures in recent years.
