White House: “Amazon Partnering with China’s Propaganda Arm”

A White House press briefing marking President Donald Trump’s 100th day in office took an unexpected turn as officials launched a fierce attack against Amazon. The e-commerce giant was labeled both “hostile” and “political” for its handling of U.S. trade policies. The administration claims Amazon is attempting to sway public opinion against Trump’s controversial tariff strategy.

White House: “Amazon Is Taking China’s Side”

According to senior officials, Amazon’s move to display tariffs separately on its product pages is a deliberate political act designed to turn consumers against Trump’s trade agenda. The White House accuses the company of trying to frame the president’s tariff policies as harmful to Americans.

In one of the most pointed statements of the briefing, an official declared:

“Amazon is partnering with China’s propaganda arm.”

Tariffs Targeting China

One of the defining actions of Trump’s second term has been the implementation of aggressive tariff measures, especially against China.

  • Chinese imports now face a 145% tariff,

  • while most other countries are subject to a 10% levy.

The administration argues that these tariffs will weaken China’s manufacturing sector and lead to job losses in the country.

“These tariffs will increase China’s burden. Over time, that burden will become unsustainable,” said a White House spokesperson.

Growing Criticism, Strong Support

Despite mounting criticism from political opponents and global allies who view Trump’s executive orders as overreaching and diplomatically isolating, his base remains firmly behind him.

For many supporters, Trump is fulfilling his campaign promises and reinforcing his image as a leader who puts American interests first.

Big Tech vs. Washington: The Tension Escalates

This clash between Amazon and the White House highlights a growing divide between Big Tech and political power. As companies like Amazon adopt transparency measures that double as political commentary, Washington appears increasingly willing to push back hard.

This confrontation may be just the beginning. Other tech giants like Apple, Google, and Meta are likely to face similar scrutiny as tensions between Silicon Valley and the federal government continue to rise.
