According to The Hill and other sources, Trump has won more than 270 electoral votes, securing victory in the presidential race once again. Trump also gained a lead in the popular vote. Republicans took control of the Senate, winning at least 51 seats, while Democrats lost at least two seats. In the House of Representatives, Republicans reached 198 seats. Democrats lost two seats, still far from the 218 needed to secure a majority.
In his live speech, Trump stated, “I’m very proud of your vote; I hope that one day when you look back, you’ll think, ‘That was one of the truly important moments of my life.’” He concluded by saying, “America has given us a unique and powerful mandate, we have taken back control of the Senate.”
