Animoca Brands reported $314 million in bookings for 2024, marking a 12% year-over-year increase. The company’s co-founder and executive chairman, Yat Siu, expects continued growth through 2025.
Cost Reduction Through AI and Optimization
The company reduced its operating expenses from $246 million in 2023 to $217 million in 2024, achieving a 12% cost reduction. This decline was driven by optimization efforts launched in the second half of 2023 and the integration of AI-powered processes.
Siu stated that Animoca Brands leverages AI for investment decisions, game development, and cost optimization. He also mentioned that the company is training AI agents using its accumulated expertise and internal capabilities.
$314 Million in Bookings for 2024
The company reported $314 million in total bookings for 2024, a 12% increase from the $280 million recorded in 2023.
Bookings is a commonly used metric in the gaming industry that includes both recognized revenue and deferred revenue from unfulfilled contracts.
The breakdown of Animoca Brands’ 2024 bookings is as follows:
- Digital Asset Advisory (DAA): $165 million (+116% increase)
- Subsidiaries and incubated projects: $110 million
- Investment activities: $39 million
The biggest growth came from the Digital Asset Advisory (DAA) unit. Siu described this division as a real-world demonstration of Web3’s shared network effect.
