Plans for a new 100-megawatt (MW) crypto mining plant in Paraguay were revealed by bitcoin mining company HIVE Digital Technologies.
“This potential opportunity is expected to add up to an additional 6.5 Exahash per second (EH/s) to our Bitcoin mining operations, increasing our global EH/s to 12.1 EH/s,” the executive chairman of the corporation, Frank Holmes, said in a release. “This marks a turning point in our diversified growth plan and underlines our will to increase our worldwide presence via data center operations in Canada, Sweden, Iceland, and now Paraguay.”
Additionally revealed by HIVE was that, as of July 21, its bitcoin reserves were 2,521 BTC. Experts estimates that HIVE’s bitcoin is worth more than $171 million at a present value of $67,850 per coin. HIVE took in an 8% rise in year-over-year income—$114.5 million. Their mining income from digital currencies came to $111 million.
