Arthur Madrid, the co-founder and CEO of decentralized metaverse and gaming platform The Sandbox, told Cointelegraph in an exclusive interview that wallet interoperability remains one of the main narratives in Web3 gaming. Speaking at the Crypto Polo event in Dubai, Madrid emphasized the importance of allowing players to move seamlessly between games using a single wallet.
Madrid stated:
“Our vision is still very clear. You should be able to play any game using one wallet that combines all your collected and earned utilities.”
Web3 Gaming Continues to Grow
Despite a broader market slowdown, Madrid affirmed that the Web3 gaming sector is still booming. The executive highlighted that tools and infrastructure for game development have become much more accessible over the past two years.

“I feel that the tools to create games have become more accessible. Looking at the number of games developed on gaming platforms in the last two years, the sector is still booming,” Madrid said.
He also pointed out that a single breakout game could serve as the catalyst for broader Web3 adoption in gaming.

NFT Utility Is Maturing
The Sandbox COO Sebastien Borget noted that the NFT space is witnessing a shift toward more functional applications. Borget stated that the industry is moving away from NFTs being used solely for fundraising or profile pictures, towards offering real utility.
Borget added:
“At The Sandbox, we continue to see high demand for virtual land, avatars, and NFT collections like Jurassic World, because they can be used directly across the game.”
