London Stock Exchange Launches Blockchain Platform for Private Funds!

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has launched a blockchain-based digital infrastructure platform for private funds. This move makes LSEG the first major global exchange to deploy such a system.

Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI)

The platform, called Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI), supports the entire lifecycle of digital assets—from issuance to tokenization and post-trade settlement. LSEG announced that the platform was developed in partnership with Microsoft and runs on Microsoft Azure.

LSEG stated that DMI is designed as part of its goal to become the first global exchange group supporting clients across full financing continuity. The system provides interoperability between distributed ledger technology and traditional financial systems.

Private Funds and First Participants

Private funds are the first asset class to go live on the DMI platform, with plans for expansion to additional asset classes in the future. The platform allows Workspace users to explore private funds and enables general partners to engage with professional investors.

The first participants include the asset management firm MembersCap and the London-based crypto exchange Archax, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). MembersCap completed the first transaction on the platform with Archax, which was conducted on behalf of the Cardano Foundation.

This development is considered a significant step for the blockchain and digital asset ecosystem, and the story will be updated as new information becomes available.
