Coreum (COREUM) Overview

Coreum enterprise blockchain with Smart Tokens and PoS

Coreum is a Layer-1 blockchain designed for global enterprises and marketed as the world’s first “Superledger.” The platform supports up to 7,000 transactions per second (TPS) and ensures ISO20022 compliance for cross-border payments. Operating on a Proof of Stake (PoS) network, Coreum offers fast, secure, and low-cost transactions.

Enterprise-Grade Blockchain & Smart Tokens

As an Enterprise-Grade Blockchain (EGB), Coreum introduces a new programmability layer through Smart Tokens. Supporting WASM-based smart contracts, it enables tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) and applications such as Neobanking.

Coreum also features a multi-chain bridge, allowing interactions between different blockchains. Developers can wrap tokens in a collateralized manner, facilitating seamless cross-chain integration.

The EGB standard optimizes Coreum for enterprise use, making transactions auditable, irreversible, and secure without exposing sensitive participant information.

Team and Founders

The project is led by a core team:

  • Bob Ras – Co-Creator & Board Member

  • Reza Bashash – Co-Creator & Board Member

  • Other Key Members: Mike McCluskey, Yaroslav Savchuk, Artem Linetskyi, Milad Zahedi, Favio Velarde

Investors & Partnerships

Coreum benefits from strong ecosystem partners and corporate-oriented collaborations, including support from Sologenic and the Coreum Foundation. ISO20022 compliance enables potential integration with traditional financial institutions. Technical partnerships with wallets, exchanges, and other infrastructure providers such as Tangem Wallet enhance adoption.

Project Vision

The core idea of Coreum is to accelerate enterprise adoption and global financial integration:

  • Bring the security, speed, and compliance that traditional businesses and financial institutions require to the blockchain environment.

  • Enable companies to tokenize assets (real estate, stocks, etc.) easily and programmably through Smart Tokens.

  • Serve as a reliable, compliant, and high-performance bridge between DeFi and TradFi ecosystems.

How Coreum Works

Coreum uses a Bonded Proof of Stake (BPoS) consensus mechanism. Network participants stake tokens to secure the network, ensuring high speed and reliability. WASM-based smart contracts and Smart Tokens provide programmability for RWA, Neobanking applications, and cross-chain interactions.

Governance

Coreum supports decentralized governance. COREUM token holders vote on protocol upgrades, network fees, and ecosystem proposals. On-chain governance is integrated with the BPoS consensus, allowing staking and voting via explorer.coreum.com. Governance also includes token burning mechanisms and delegation programs to encourage participation.
