Interest in Bitcoin Surges: Young Investors Leave Gold Behind!

Global investment giant VanEck has observed a significant shift in the “safe-haven” preferences of younger investors. According to the firm’s analysis, especially in emerging markets, young investors are increasingly choosing Bitcoin over traditional gold to protect their savings against economic uncertainty and inflation risk.

New Generation Trusts Bitcoin

Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, noted that younger investors are increasingly turning to Bitcoin to safeguard their wealth.

Sigel explained that this trend is driven not only by technological innovation but also by economic security and accessibility. In countries with limited access to financial systems, Bitcoin’s digital nature offers investors greater freedom and security.

VanEck: Bitcoin Could Reach $644,000

According to VanEck, approximately half of gold’s value as a store of wealth is based on investor perception of trust. If Bitcoin captures just half of this trust, its price could potentially rise to $644,000.

Sigel emphasized that Bitcoin’s growing role is supported by:

  • Declining trust in traditional reserve assets
  • Strong capital inflows into spot ETFs
  • Rising institutional demand

These factors could position Bitcoin as a more central asset within the global financial system.

Is the Era of Digital Gold Beginning?

Experts note that the “digital gold” narrative, which gained momentum post-2020, is increasingly backed by tangible data. Bitcoin is no longer seen solely as a speculative asset but is increasingly recognized as a long-term store of value.

Recent developments in the crypto market indicate that both retail and institutional investors are positioning Bitcoin as a hedging tool, signaling a broader shift that strengthens the role of digital assets within the traditional financial system.
