As Coin Engineer we conducted our Spaces event where zkSync authorities answered our questions and gave information about the project.
You can access the content and details of the AMA we conduct with projects from here.
Important Moments from our zkSync Space Event
CE: Hello friends, welcome to Coin Engineer’s Twitter Space. Today we will have a Space event with zkSync. I am really really excited right now, because as you know Layer2 projects started to slowly reveal the news. We do not know what will happen, for this we called SEB, the person in charge of DeFi. Hey dude, how are you, Seb? Could you please introduce yourself?
SEB: Hello everyone. It’s nice to be here and doing this AMA with the Turkish community and a great thing. It’s lovely to be here with you. There is a wonderful atmosphere here. And now, again, at the first stage, we will bring the information to the entire Turkish community after DevPlanet and Binance Blockchain Week. Now fresh news from Layer 2. And you are the best of this. Thank you for attending.
CE: Okay, let’s start. First question, what is what sets you apart compared to other competitors? For example, why should people prefer you over competitors like Arbitrum and Scroll?
SEB: Okay, what do you think is the thing that makes us the best? I want to learn from you first. What did you like the most about ZKSync?
CE: It’s the most popular and a project based on the community, it is also technically very advanced and it is dedicated to the cryptocurrency industry like things in a new age.
SEB: Incredible! Can you explain to your fans about ZKEVM?
CE: No, I’m not clear technically, but if you could explain more, we’re here for you anyway, aren’t we?
SEB: Okay, then you will translate. EVM is the 2nd layer on Ethereum and we use zero-knowledge proofs to prove that transactions are taking place. And this is a 2nd layer execution environment. What it does is you can use Ethereum, everything on Ethereum, but it’s super cheap and super fast. Then you can build whatever you want on it. It’s very easy to build. And for internet we have a really good community.
CE: It sounds perfect, man. Thank you. It’s a very simple explanation. And now, it’s your turn. And the second question is coming. What are your plans for Turkey and what are your plans for our Turkish community and our society?
SEB: At ZK Sync, we love Turkey. We are very, very excited about Turkey. We love Turkey as a country. It’s a beautiful country. We love Turkish food. We love Turkish football. And we love the Turkish people.
CE: Which is your favorite team in Turkey?
SEB: My favorite team is Galatasaray, Cimbombom!
CE: That’s great, man! Thanks! Now I’m moving on to the other question. ZKSync ranks quite high in terms of transaction volumes and transaction numbers. But do you believe that these data will be sustainable in the future?
SEB: Okay, ZKSync has the most users in the L2 space. We have one million users, we have a million wallets. Everyone is very excited because we’re very fast, we’re very cheap and there are a lot of applications to use and a lot of developers. And it’s going to continue because we’re always making the technology better. We’re making the technology better for the users. And one of these users is also CLAVE. CLAVE is a wallet, and it’s really easy to use and it’s made by the Turkish team.
CE: Wow, that’s amazing! Thank you very much. I want to ask you a special question. Is there a Turkish member in ZKsync? And what is the information of this wallet?
SEB: Okay, I just shared it in the comments here, its name is CLAVE, C-L-A-V-E and it is all about building with account abstraction. Do you know what account abstraction is?
CE: Yes, yes, we definitely know it.
SEB: It allows you to have a wallet that uses crypto as a custodian You can download it from the App Store So it can be on your iPhone or Android and you can sign messages using the secure area of your phone So you can sign messages with your face ID or fingerprint or something else and it’s always a single click when making a transaction, so you no longer feel like you’re using crypto. You feel like you’re using a normal app on your phone. It’s very easy. And you can build it as you want. You can use their technology and customize it. This is for everyone.
CE: That’s great! Yes, man. I want to ask another question. I want to ask the fifth question, because the last question is a bit complicated. We pay fees on the Ethereum network with Ethereum. Can we pay these fees with ZKsync token using the innovative technology you will bring in the future? I mean do you have a plan to bring such an update and innovation?
SEB: Okay, gas will always be in Ethereum and ETH in ZKSync. However, since we use account abstraction, we have something called Paymaster, which means you can use any token you want to make gas payments.
CE: Wow, that’s very cool and a beautiful technology. Is it an agreement right now or is it one of your future plans?
SEB: Oh, it’s in use right now.
CE: Oh, that’s really great. And the other question is coming. Your business competitors are known in Turkey because you know there was DevConnect and Binance Blockchain week and several live broadcasts were made with various projects. What is the difference and your preferences between you and LayerZero and StartNet?
SEB: So Starknet is also a rollup on Ethereum, but they are not an EVM compatible rollup. They use a different programming language called Cairo, while we use a language called Solidity. So there is a different type of developer who can use this. They also use zero-knowledge proofs to verify their proofs. And then Layer Zero is not a Layer 2. Layer Zero is a bridge protocol to move seamlessly between different chains. They use a standard they developed under the name of single chain interchangeable token standard.
CE: It’s very clear. Yes. This is a lot of technical information. Now I want to ask different questions for you to introduce yourself, because we also want to know that you add diversity to our society with your differences. And I want to ask, what should we do for ZkSync in the future together with our community? And what do we need to know about ZkSync?
SEB: So in general, everyone here should follow my account. I always share about projects, what we’re working on, updates, and news. And everyone should use ZK Sync every day. They must try protocols. They must try different things in DeFi. And they should tell all their friends about it. They should promote as much as they can and work together with the community.
CE: These are very important points. Another question, for all communities in this sector not only in Turkey but everywhere since opportunities, are there specific things? Because you know, sometimes we see NFTs, sometimes we see different meme tokens or something else and we don’t know if there’s any security or not. And sometimes hackers can come and do different things in wallets. We don’t want this in terms of security. Can you explain what we should do for this side?
SEB: Okay, so you should always be very careful. You should always take a lot of precautions. You should check contracts, check the team behind it, and check if everything is real. But you have to be careful.
CE: It sounds great, my friend. Okay, okay, we will. Is there anything you want to tell us?
SEB: It’s lovely to be with you. Thank you. Thank you very much, guys. It’s really great to be with you. Thank you for hosting me today, Alper. Thanks a lot for your help. Thank you for the Turkish community. Turkey is a very big country using crypto and we are really excited about doing something in Turkey.
