Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) made a big impact in the crypto community by sharing the story of his dog Broccoli on his social media account. CZ described how he met Broccoli, the time he spent with him and their experiences together so far. But the interesting point is that Broccoli’s name and CZ’s post triggered a new wave of memecoins on BNB Chain.
Broccoli’s Story
About a year and a half ago, CZ asked a friend in Dubai which breed of dog was best suited to the hot climate. But despite having no plans, a Belgian Malinois knocked on his door a few hours later. He named his surprise friend Broccoli, who came to him with his official passport, because of its association with blockchain and green.
Broccoli initially had socialization problems, not communicating with other dogs and approaching many things with fear. CZ said that he runs 15 km daily on a bicycle to release his energy, and that these long laps are a relief for him as well.
Memecoin Wave Begins
CZ’s post introducing his dog has triggered new memecoin projects on BNB Chain in the crypto community. Although CZ stated that he has no direct plans to issue a memecoin, he stated that the community is free to do so and that liquidity support can be provided to the best memecoin projects on BNB Chain.
With the BNB Foundation’s announcement that it can provide support to the best meme projects to be created by the community, investors and crypto enthusiasts are speculating that Broccoli-themed tokens could be released soon.
