EigenLayer, Ethereum’s leading restaking protocol, is preparing to introduce significant innovations in its reward ecosystem, providing blockchain validators with more flexibility and customization options. These updates, set to launch in January, will offer users a more dynamic experience.
Announced on December 6, the changes focus on validators and actively validated services (AVS), bringing major modifications to the ecosystem. With these updates, AVS will be able to distribute rewards directly based on individual validator performance. Validators will also have the autonomy to set their own fee rates independently.
Reward Program
Sreeram Kannan, the founder of EigenLayer, explained that the changes in the reward mechanism will depend on the performance of validators and the fees they earn from the AVS they serve. For example, ARPA Network rewards validators by distributing 14,000 ARPA tokens weekly.
These innovations aim to make EigenLayer a more adaptable and performance-driven restaking ecosystem, supporting innovative solutions in blockchain infrastructure by giving validators and service providers more control.
