Election-Themed Trump and Harris Costumes from Off The Grid

Off The Grid

Ahead of the U.S. presidential elections, the popular third-person battle royale game *Off The Grid* has drawn attention with new character costumes resembling Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Titled the “Protect Democracy Content Pack,” the update was showcased in a trailer released on November 2. The characters’ lines and actions carry nods to the policies and rhetoric of the U.S. presidential candidates, sparking significant reactions.

Characters Alluding to Campaign Slogans

In the new content, the blue-clad female character quips, “I’ve always been against the death penalty, but I might make an exception here,” referencing Kamala Harris’s long-standing stance against capital punishment. Meanwhile, the red-suited male character’s line, “I need a new right-hand man… just make sure it’s not made in China,” alludes to Donald Trump’s protectionist trade policies. The blue character’s remark, “I see another rich guy; tax him!” also reflects Harris’s policy of raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. A recent report suggests Harris’s tax policies could result in a projected $4.1 trillion increase from 2025 to 2034.

Gunzilla Games: “Characters Are Entirely Fictional”

Although players note the resemblance to Trump and Harris, Off The Grid’s developer, Gunzilla Games, clarified on X that the characters are fictional. “Both characters are fictional. The voices were acted. Gunzilla Games does not endorse any politician, as none represent our values,” the studio stated in a public stance.

Players React to the “Wildest Content Pack”

Crypto game commentator Stache, with 103,600 followers on X, called the pack “the wildest content pack” he’d ever seen. Another player remarked, “This content pack feels like April Fools’, Halloween, and election season all rolled into one,” capturing the excitement it generated. This update, launched just before the U.S. elections on November 5, led some analysts to suggest it could increase volatility in the crypto market.
