The European Blockchain Sandbox Initiative (EBSI) has announced the onboarding of 41 regulators and authorities from 22 countries as part of its second cohort, further boosting blockchain innovation and regulatory collaboration across Europe.
As of September 30, the initiative includes participants from a wide range of countries, such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands, as well as smaller nations like Malta, Cyprus, and Liechtenstein. The regulators from both the European Union and the European Economic Area aim to work together to support the development of distributed ledger technology (DLT) across various sectors.
Supporting Blockchain Innovation
Launched by the European Commission, the EBSI seeks to create a framework where blockchain projects, regulators, and authorities can collaborate to overcome regulatory barriers and foster innovation. The sandbox provides a confidential environment where participants can exchange knowledge, identify legal challenges, and explore blockchain use cases safely.
