Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin offered financial advice to users through a social media post.

Cryptocurrency pioneer and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin offered investment advice to his followers in a post on his X account. Buterin made this post in response to an example given involving Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

After Bill Gates became friends with Warren Buffett, he began to diversify his portfolio and sold Microsoft shares.

Quoting a post that focuses on Bill Gates’ meeting with billionaire Warren Buffett and how it led Gates to change his financial strategy by diversifying his portfolio, Buterin provided four different pieces of advice for investors.

The user emphasized that Gates’ wealth would be $1.33 trillion instead of $138 billion if he hadn’t diversified, urging caution regarding diversification and those who advocate for it.

Quoting this post, Vitalik Buterin stated that the user’s advice was very bad advice. He then provided some genuine financial advice:

Diversifying your portfolio is good.
Build up to the level where you have enough money to cover your expenses for a few years. Financial power is freedom.
Be boring in most of your portfolio.
Don’t use leverage greater than 2x.
