Ex President Trump is said to be “safe” after gunshots that were heard “around him” while golfing at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach-Florida. The issue is still under investigation, but no more information has been released as of now, said Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung.
Whether that was an assassination attempt is still uncertain though the first reports indicate that the authorities think that the shooter had Trump in his sight. It will be recalled that Donald Trump Jr., the President’s son, boasted that the law enforcement officers had seized an AK-47 rifle from the scene. Here it must be noted that there are the previous reports of assassination attempts on the life of Trump with prior such incident taking place on July 13, 2024 at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania. That was abruptly brought to an end when Secret Service agents managed to immobilise the shooter.
After the July event, the probability of Trump’s victory in the prediction markets rose, which positively affected the price of the Trump-themed memecoin MAGA (TRUMP).
However, the lead that Trump had has since reduced especially after a face-off with Kamala Harris who is the Vice President of the United States. The election has continued to be competitive as the two campaigns head towards the November polls proceeding.
