A cryptocurrency investor named Larp von Trier turned $350 into $8.3 million by investing in a meme coin on the Base network.
According to data shared by on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, Larp von Trier bought 0.1 Ethereum worth of KEYCAT, a meme coin named after the famous Keyboard Cat video, when its market cap was only $2,200. He also shared his purchase on social media, alerting his followers to the coin.
With his $353 investment, Larp von Trier acquired 1.3 billion KEYCAT, or 13% of the total supply. In just six days, KEYCAT’s price skyrocketed, taking the investor’s $353 to $8.39 million. During that time, KEYCAT’s market cap surged from $2,000 to $100 million.
Unable to resist taking profits, Larp von Trier sold 344 million KEYCAT from two of his wallets, netting him $1.75 million.
He still holds 971 million KEYCAT worth $6.6 million in six other wallets. Larp von Trier continues to promote KEYCAT on social media and does not appear to be planning any further sales at this time.
