The number of addresses requesting the GRASS token airdrop has reached 1.5 million, making GRASS the largest airdrop on the Solana network, according to Dune Analytics. The GRASS token was launched on Monday as the new governance token of the Solana-based decentralized communications (DePin) project, causing the crash of Solana’s largest wallet, Phantom.
A total of 2.8 million wallets have been identified as eligible for the GRASS token. However, according to Wynd Labs CEO and Grass core contributor Andrej Radonjic, around 5 million addresses will ultimately be eligible to claim the token. The previous record on Solana was set by an airdrop from decentralized exchange Jupiter, which saw 639,000 people claim it.
However, it should not be assumed that GRASS is the most widely distributed token, as a user can have multiple blockchain addresses or wallets. It is very rare for the number of addresses eligible for airdrops to exceed one million.
What is GRASS?
GRASS is a crypto project that collects and verifies data to train AI bots. Millions of users earn GRASS tokens by downloading a browser extension and mobile app that performs data cleaning operations. “Historically, your bandwidth was stolen from you by large companies through background software in free apps. But today, for the first time, users are gaining ownership in the network by sharing their bandwidth,” Radonjic said.
GRASS tokens will be staked to drive web traffic on the network and provide bandwidth. In Epoch 1, the first period of the GRASS airdrop, the protocol distributed 100 million GRASS tokens, equivalent to 10% of the total supply, to early node operators and community members. The majority of the tokens (9%) went to users who earned more than 500 Grass Points on the network.

According to CryptoRank data, GRASS’s Linear Unlock process will continue until 2028. A daily supply of 0.01% (approximately 146,200 GRASS) will be unlocked until October 28, 2025, which could create selling pressure on the GRASS price in the long term. Currently trading at around $1, the GRASS token has a fully diluted market value approaching $1 billion.
