Announced its mainnet launch—planned for Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET—Kaia, the Layer-1 blockchain from two top chat apps in Asia, said: “The Kaia mainnet will go live on August 29 as the fastest EVM blockchain globally with one-second finality, ultra-low gas fees, and support from leading Asian web3 partners, including Kakao and LINE NEXT,” the press announcement added.
April saw Kaia created following a combination between Finschia from Kakao’s Klaytn and LINE. While LINE is a main chatting tool in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand, Kakao runs a Messenger program used by 96% of South Koreans. According to the press statement, the two apps draw over 250 million users overall.
By means of its close interaction with Kakao and LINE messaging apps, the Layer-1 blockchain is projected to address issues in the user experience and deployment of Web3. It eventually wants to create an ecosystem supporting DeFi, gaming, real-world assets, and web-based chat programs.
Through its NEXT WEB software development kit (SDK), Kaia aims to enable builders to construct tiny dApps on LINE Messenger, hence facilitating a “Telegram-style native app integration.”
“Leveraging Kaia’s low TX latency, account abstraction, and fee delegation features, developers can create end-to-end seamless UX while extending their reach to hundreds of millions of LINE users across Asia,” the statement noted.
Along with the mainnet launch is Kaia Wave, a builder support program. Using the NEXT WEB SDK, eligible teams will get marketing, tech, and business support valued at $1.2 million per team. Future token-generating events and liquidity support are other advantages.
Concurrently, HashKey Global crypto exchange revealed on Wednesday the new token Kaia from Layer-1 Blockchain. The exchange stated it will provide qualified users an opportunity to win 75,000 KLAY in a limited-time event once they trade the token beginning Aug. 29.
