Plume, a modular blockchain platform focused on RWA, has received a strategic investment from funds managed by Apollo Global.
This investment will accelerate Plume’s infrastructure development and support its mission to make RWAs as accessible and functional as crypto-native assets. Apollo is a global alternative asset manager listed on the NYSE.
Plume Builds an EVM-Compatible Chain
Plume is building an EVM-compatible chain and end-to-end infrastructure to bring real-world assets such as financial instruments, carbon credits, GPUs, and collectibles onchain.
The platform offers an RWA-focused DeFi ecosystem, allowing users to swap, lend, borrow, and speculate on tokenized assets. Plume currently supports over 200 protocols and has a platform with more than 18 million wallets active on its testnet.
Plume Launches a New Product
In March, Plume launched a new payment finance product called nPAYFI on its Nest platform. This product offered real yield use cases powered by the PayPal USD stablecoin.
Plume aimed to bring payment financing on-chain and use PYUSD as a liquidity layer in the real-world asset market.
Apollo Investment Announcement
Christine Moy, Apollo’s Digital Assets Vice President and Partner, stated that the investment reflects Apollo’s belief in technologies that broaden access to institutional-quality products and create innovative client experiences. She emphasized Plume’s role in enabling programmable finance and investor engagement for private assets moving onchain.
Plume Co-founder’s Statement
Teddy Pornprinya, co-founder of Plume, said the partnership supports the company’s goal of going beyond tokenization and focusing on making RWAs functional within the crypto economy.
Pornprinya said, “The challenge is not getting assets onchain, but making them useful once they’re there.”
Plume Differs from Traditional RWA Solutions
Unlike traditional RWA solutions, Plume’s infrastructure emphasizes composability and utility, rather than focusing solely on asset tokenization. Asset issuers can connect directly to liquidity and distribution networks, positioning Plume as a hub for onchain financial innovation.
