Pudgy Penguins CEO Announces 1 Million Plush Sales in 12 Months

Nft
Physical versions of the beloved Pudgy Penguin NFT collectibles are flying off the shelves. Luca Schnetzler, CEO of the non-fungible token (NFT) project, announced that more than one million Pudgy Penguin toys were sold last year alone.
The founder of the venerable Pudgy Penguins NFT project announced the staggering sales figures on May 13, highlighting the brand’s global expansion into various retail outlets.
“Who would have guessed that the front lines of the Consumer Crypto revolution would be defended by these rotten, flightless birds?” Schnetzler shouted.
This notable milestone comes on the heels of the May 12 announcement that Pudgy Toys, along with Pudgy World, is now available at United States retail giant Target.
Pudgy Penguins, a popular NFT collectible introduced in 2021, showcases 8,888 vibrant penguin avatars.
Despite a tumultuous start with carpet-pulling allegations against the former founder, Schnetzler acquired the brand in 2022 for $2.5 million.
Additionally, plush toy versions of the beloved penguins are now available at retail giant Walmart, further contributing to its triumph.
The Pudgy Penguin model offers NFT holders the opportunity to earn 5% royalties on net revenue from sales of physical products featuring their unique Pudgy Penguin.
According to NFT marketplace OpenSea, the base price of the NFT versions is 12.87 ETH, which is approximately $37,580 at current market rates.
As reported by OpenSea, the recent sale of Penguin #6873 stands out as the most hyped sale, bringing in a staggering 400 ETH for around $1.17 million.
The collection’s sales activity increased significantly in mid-February, reaching 439 sales per day at an average price of 20 ETH. Although sales volumes have decreased slightly since then, they were hovering around 269 sales per day as of May 6.
According to NFT sales tracking platform CryptoSlam, Pudgy Penguins ranks as the twelfth-highest NFT collectible in terms of secondary sales over the past seven days, with $2.2 million in sales.

Uncategorized Bitcoin Ordinals take the title of best-selling NFTs, while CryptoPunks remain the most sought-after collectible on the market.
