The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has once again postponed its decision on NYSE’s request to list options on spot Ethereum ETFs. While the decision was expected to be announced on Monday, November 11, the SEC indicated the need for more public feedback and analysis during this period.
On August 7, NYSE American LLC, along with Grayscale and Bitwise, proposed a rule change to list and trade options on Trusts holding Ethereum. In a statement made on Friday, November 8, the SEC mentioned it required additional time to assess whether the proposed rule change complies with the requirements of the Securities Exchange Act. This delay also includes evaluating BlackRock’s application to list and trade options for its spot Bitcoin ETF, named iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA).
