MixMob, a gaming platform built on the Solana blockchain, has announced the acquisition of licensing rights for the iconic Original Stormtrooper from the Star Wars franchise. This marks the first official license secured by MixMob and paves the way for further expansion into the realm of branded NFTs.
According to a press release, the agreement allows MixMob to integrate Stormtroopers into their upcoming card racing game, Racer 1, as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the second quarter of 2024. Stormtroopers, the recognizable soldiers of the Galactic Empire, are some of the most well-known figures in film history.
This move signifies the launch of MixMob’s official licensing strategy, with plans to secure three additional licenses throughout 2024, as confirmed by a company representative to CoinDesk.
The news appears to have a positive impact on MixMob’s MXM token, a governance and value accrual token within their ecosystem. CoinDesk data shows a 1.2% increase in MXM’s value over the past 24 hours, while the broader market gauge, CD20, experienced a 6.4% rise during the same period.
