Donald Trump

President-elect Donald Trump continues to take bold steps in the digital assets space even before officially assuming office. Trump has appointed former football player Bo Hines as the new head of the Crypto Council.

Bo Hines to Lead the Crypto Council

On December 22, Trump announced on Truth Social that Bo Hines would serve as the Executive Director of the Digital Asset Advisors Council. Hines will work under the leadership of David Sacks, Trump’s special envoy for artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency.
Regarding the appointment, Trump stated:

“In his new role, Bo will work with David to foster innovation and growth in the digital assets space, while ensuring industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed.”

Key Appointment to the AI Council

In addition to cryptocurrency, Trump has appointed former Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) general partner Sriram Krishnan to the AI Council. Krishnan, focusing on AI policy, expressed his thoughts on the new role:

“I’m honored to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI working closely with David Sacks.”

Trump’s Approach to the Crypto Industry

During his presidential campaign, Trump pledged to make the U.S. the “capital of the crypto world” and raised millions of dollars in funding from crypto industry leaders to back this promise. Among his other notable appointments, Trump has selected billionaire Elon Musk for critical advisory roles.

Trump’s latest appointments aim to position the U.S. as a global leader in both the cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence sectors. The involvement of key figures like Bo Hines and Sriram Krishnan in these pivotal roles has sparked curiosity about their potential impact in the upcoming administration.
