Trump’s memecoin accounts earned $314 million from TRUMP token sales and $36 million from fees on the Solana blockchain.

Trump’s TRUMP Memecoin Project Earns $350 Million

According to an analysis by the Financial Times, U.S. President Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency project, the Official Trump memecoin (TRUMP), has generated at least $350 million in revenue since its launch.

Entities involved in the TRUMP memecoin operations earned at least $314 million from token sales and $36 million from fees on the Solana blockchain, as reported on March 7.

While Trump’s personal earnings remain unclear, the memecoin’s official website, Gettrumpmemes.com, states that Trump Organization-affiliated CIC Digital and Delaware-based Fight Fight Fight own 80% of the tokens.

The Financial Times tracked the TRUMP tokens from their creation to their transfer into official wallets and their subsequent sale on Solana-based trading platforms, calculating the total earnings.

How Many Trump Memecoins Are There?

Trump launched the TRUMP memecoin a few days before his return to the White House on January 20. The launch involved minting 1 billion TRUMP tokens; 200 million tokens were released in the first batch, and the remaining 800 million will be released over the next three years.

Token

According to the FT report, 158 million tokens were deposited into a liquidity pool, allowing investors to purchase them with Circle’s USDC stablecoin. However, sales and purchases raised concerns about price manipulation.

Trump-linked accounts reportedly sold tokens at a low price before injecting $291 million back into another liquidity pool to support the market.

Additionally, between January 19-20, Trump accounts spent $1 million purchasing their own tokens at $33.20 each to stabilize the price.

Legal Regulations for Presidential Memecoins Coming

The price of the TRUMP memecoin dropped 82% from its peak of $75 on January 19, falling to $13.50. Despite this, 831 million tokens still held by Trump-affiliated accounts are estimated to have a notional value of $10.8 billion.

Presidential memecoins continue to stir debate in the crypto world, with 700 copycat tokens emerging and potential links to the Libra token scandal promoted by Argentine President Milei.

Representative Sam Liccardo has proposed a draft bill aiming to ban presidential memecoins. Additionally, New York Assembly Member Clyde Vanel introduced a bill seeking to protect investors from rug pulls.

The SEC has noted that memecoins are not subject to securities laws and has directed their regulation to other authorities.
