Altcoin Season Index is a key market indicator tracked by the industry, measuring how strongly altcoins perform compared to Bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market.
- Altcoin Season: When the index value rises and passes a certain threshold (usually above 75), it is considered "Altseason"—a period when the altcoin market performs much better than Bitcoin.
- Bitcoin Season: If the index value is low (usually below 25), it indicates a period where Bitcoin increases its market dominance and altcoins lag behind.
- Neutral Zone: If the index is at a medium level, the market is balanced and there is no clear altseason or Bitcoin season.
How to Interpret?
- If the index is 75 or above, altcoins have recently outperformed Bitcoin by a wide margin. This is generally considered an "Altseason" signal.
- If the index is 25 or below, the market is moving mainly with Bitcoin, and altcoins have lagged behind.
- At medium values, the market is indecisive or neutral, with no clear trend.
