    MVRV Z-Score

An on-chain index showing the relationship between Bitcoin's market cap and realized cap, helping to identify top and bottom zones.

What is the MVRV Z-Score Index?

MVRV Z-Score is one of the most popular on-chain analysis indicators, normalizing the difference between Bitcoin's market cap and realized cap by standard deviation to detect whether the market is overvalued or undervalued.
    • Market Cap: The total circulating supply of Bitcoin multiplied by its current price.
    • Realized Cap: The total value recalculated based on the last price each Bitcoin moved.
    • MVRV Z-Score: Calculated as (Market Cap - Realized Cap) / Standard Deviation.

    How to Interpret?
    • Above 7: Historically, Bitcoin has mostly reached cyclical tops; selling pressure may increase.
    • 0 and below: Has historically indicated bottom zones and long-term opportunities.
    • Intermediate values represent periods when the market is neutral or near equilibrium.

Note: MVRV Z-Score is designed to statistically show top and bottom zones in Bitcoin price cycles. It is not definitive investment advice and should be considered a supporting metric in your analysis.
